Youth Disco
Another Great Night on 16th November 2007
This project, sponsored by the Lions, provides a controlled environment in which children from the Lower schools of Garforth Community College and Brigshaw in Kippax can enjoy an evening of Disco Music |
|
One of the early events at Brigshaw | The event was started in October 2003 with discos being held separately at Garforth Community College and Brigshaw School. Initially they were attended by only 70 or 80 pupils at each dance. Up to Sept 06 we have organised 11 events and over the recent years they have become much more popular with all 200 tickets now being sold on each evening. The increased popularity is due partly to moving the venue to the Holiday Inn in Garforth. We are indebted to the hotel for providing the room free of charge and for maintaining their commitment to helping with this project.

First One at Garforth Community College
| Attendance is by ticket only and is strictly controlled by members of Leeds Youth Services who sell the tickets at the schools. Each attendee has to have a signed acceptance form from their parents and they are not allowed to leave the premises without a parent. A professional security company is employed to search all attendees on entrance and to monitor behaviour. To ensure a high standard of entertainment is provided we engage a top quality DJ and lighting We do give new young bands the opportunity to perfom live in the Disco breaks. |
